Joan, my sister, perhaps the most well-informed person that I know, read once somewhere that Hillary Clinton keeps lists of the books that she reads:  otherwise, for better or for worse, how soon we forget some of them.  Joan started keeping her own book list right after that, about ten years ago.  I joined in sometime after starting the needahand web site in 2001.  For those of you who are avid readers like we are, I recommend it to you.  Elke, my friend in Germany (whom I met because of this web site and with whom I share my favorite author, John Irving), began submitting her reading lists to this site also.  We all read a variety of genres --  some classics, some quality contemporary fiction, some mindless escapism;  some gourmet meals, some pizza, some bubblegum -- you'll never know what might be next.   H. :-)
